🌱 Giant White Bird of Paradise Care

Light

• Bright light to full sun is best

• Can handle several hours of direct sun indoors near large windows

• Low light = slower growth and smaller leaves

Water

• Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry

• Likes regular watering but does not tolerate soggy soil

• Reduce watering in winter

Humidity

• Average indoor humidity is fine

• Higher humidity helps keep leaf edges from browning

Temperature

• Prefers 65–90°F

• Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F

Soil

• Well-draining potting mix

• Adding perlite or sand helps prevent compaction

Fertilizer

• Feed monthly in spring and summer

• Follow package instructions for your chosen fertilizer

• Pause feeding in fall and winter

Growth Habit

• Upright, clumping growth

• Leaves may naturally split—this is normal and helps prevent wind damage

• Rotate plant for even growth

• Remove damaged or older leaves at the base
