This item is classified by the manufacturer as outdoor-ready. We group outdoor items into three levels below. Match the wording in the product title to the level to understand recommended use. If the title includes "Custom Made" and the item has a natural wood trunk, the trunk is not treated for outdoor use.
- Water-Resistant (in title): Materials that don't absorb water. No UV inhibitors—color will fade over time. Best for shaded/covered areas. No warranty is included. To extend life, apply an outdoor UV spray.
- UV-Resistant (in title): Materials infused with UV inhibitors to delay fading. Longevity varies by sun exposure, climate, and material thickness. Typically many years in northern states under partial sun, but less in full, all-day sun (e.g., AZ, TX, FL). No warranty is included. An outdoor UV spray can further extend life.
- UV-Proof (in title): UV-inhibited plastics engineered for maximum fade resistance and weathering. Guaranteed to delay fading for a minimum of 5 years (or 3 years in AZ/TX/FL). To maximize longevity, periodic UV-spray treatment can be used.

Inherently Fire-Retardant (IFR)
This is an inherently fire-retardant (IFR) item. In documented polyester and polyethylene styles, the fire-retardant properties are built into the foliage during manufacturing—not applied topically—so they will not wash away or leave oily residue.
Fire-test documentation: Reports cover foliage materials, not individual SKUs.
- Title Includes "IFR PVC" (PVC Foliage): Manufacturer-designated IFR PVC foliage. No material-specific report is available, but we have sold these items nationwide for over a decade without a known fire-marshal issue. Ask your fire marshal: Is the IFR PVC designation acceptable, or is an on-site evaluation preferred?
- SKU Prefix AR or AUR (Polyethylene Foliage): The NFPA 701, Method 1 report says the tested material passed.
- SKU Prefix GR, PR, PUR or WR (Polyester Foliage): The ASTM E84-16 report shows a Flame Spread Index of 0 and Smoke Developed Index of 130, within the report's Class A limits.
California projects: The documented polyethylene and polyester groups above have a current California State Fire Marshal Fabric Registration under Section 13115. Ask your fire marshal: Will this registration satisfy the California or Title 19 documentation requirement for your project?
