18th-century octagonal French jardinière w/ roses

A beautiful glazed earthenware jardinière/planter dating from the eighteenth century, France. Note the lovely octagonal shape and delightful use of colors and floral motifs including pink tulips and peony roses. The sculptural side handles feature a woman's face decorated in the same pink glaze. The planter rests on three pink-glazed feet. 

This piece was curated from a prominent home and personal collection of a passionate French antiques collector and floral/garden enthusiast in the south of France. Please note the small and solid vertical fissure as seen in photos on one of the widest sides which perhaps occurred during the glazing process.
