19th Century Saint-Uze Confit Pot w/ Blue Floral Decoration 8"

This 19th-century pot à confit was produced in the town of Saint-Uze, located in the Drôme region of southeastern France. Saint-Uze became known in the 19th century for its distinctive stoneware, recognizable by its creamy white glaze and cobalt blue stamped or transfer-printed decoration. The pottery was both durable and refined, designed for everyday use in rural households across the Rhône valley and beyond.

This example is unusually rounded in form, with a generous belly, two looped side handles, and a slightly everted rim. The body is decorated with delicate blue floral motifs repeated in garland-like bands around the circumference. The surface is glazed in a soft white enamel with a subtle crackle visible in places.
