This exquisite French confit pot is from south-west France and dates from the nineteenth century. It has timeworn yellow and green glaze. Originally used for preserving food under a layer of fat, hence the name 'pot a graisse'. This will make a lovely addition to a collection of antique French pottery.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
