This small French pot, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, comes from the Gard region and was likely intended for honey or jam. Crafted in glazed terracotta, it rests on a shallow foot and features a softly rounded body that swells before tapering gently to a rolled rim. The surface is decorated with a marbled jaspe glaze over a pale ground, where fluid swirls of chestnut, dark brown, and warm terracotta create a painterly effect. The glaze shows areas of thinning and light craquelure, with minor wear consistent with age, giving the piece a charming rustic character.

Jaspe wares were a distinctive specialty of southern French workshops, where potters used slips of contrasting colors to achieve swirling, marble-like surfaces.
