A terrific antique French milk guard and lid with beautifully glazed terracotta from the personal collection of acclaimed cookbook author and cooking school teacher, Patricia Wells. An ingenious and pretty piece, its delightful terracotta lid with holes, was designed to heat milk without it rising and overflowing when boiling.
Patricia loved to use this as a serving piece for warm side dishes, for example, to keep the onions and vegetables cooked alongside a roast chicken warm in her bread oven before serving on the table.
