Some large aphids, like potato and foxglove aphid, shrug off the usual parasitoids, and that is where Aphelinus abdominalis comes in. It works two ways at once: females lay eggs inside aphids and also feed directly on others, so you get parasitism plus immediate host-feeding mortality from one wasp. It thrives in warm conditions and lives longer than most Aphidius species, which makes it a strong choice for recurring, hard-to-shift aphid problems.
