Art Nouveau Enamelled Glass Vase w/ Pansies - Legras - 11¾"

A graceful Art Nouveau enameled glass vase attributed to Legras & Cie, circa 1900, featuring the celebrated Lamartine décor. The elegant form rises from a gently flared foot to a tall cylindrical neck, the glass shaded from clear crystal to a luminous rose-lilac hue. Delicately hand-painted pansies in soft shades of yellow, cream, and violet bloom among slender green leaves and sprays of gilded foliage, while a finely gilded rim completes the composition. The translucent glass catches the light beautifully, enhancing the depth and vibrancy of the decoration. Condition is very good, with light wear to the gilding and minor signs of age consistent with careful use.

Among the leading French glassmakers of the Belle Époque, Théodore Legras helped establish the Saint-Denis glassworks as one of France's foremost producers of artistic glass. Renowned for its richly colored glass and finely enameled decoration, the factory received international recognition at major exhibitions, including awards at the Expositions Universelles. The Lamartine pattern perfectly captures the Art Nouveau fascination with nature, combining painterly floral motifs with subtle color gradation and delicate gilded accents.
