This early 20th century tall bakery display rack has a graceful, architectural presence, formed in wrought iron with brass accents. The blackened iron frame rises to an arched crest centered with a stylized wheat sheaf motif - a subtle emblem of its connection to baking - and is framed by cascading scrollwork along the sides. Slatted shelves are banded at the front with warm brass rails and punctuated with small turned details, while brass posts at the lower section reinforce both structure and visual rhythm. The surfaces show a timeworn patina with gentle oxidation and mellowed brass that speak to daily use in a pastry shop, where open metalwork allowed air to circulate around loaves and confections and the brass trim signaled quality to passersby.
