Brogiotto Nero Fig

You can identify Brogiotto Nero figs by their large and squat shape. Some have even described the fruits as “flattened.” They have red/black skin and a red/amber interior. Brogiotto Nero figs have a thin skin, good seed crunch, and rich and sweet flavor. They are also said to have an intense aroma–doesn’t that sound appetizing? With two crops annually, growers will have their chance to get their fill of these tear drop shaped figs. Brogiotto Nero plants also grow large leaves with 5-7 lobes.

When do we ship cuttings?

We begin shipping cuttings once the trees are dormant. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start by late November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early Spring until the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

Your cuttings will be cut to order to ensure freshness and provide the greatest chance of rooting success. Cuttings will be approximately 8”, with at least 3 nodes, and will be thicker than a #2 pencil (many are sharpie thickness or greater). Our mother trees are stored in a climate-controlled environment to keep the trees dormant and healthy through the winter and early Spring. The cuttings are guaranteed to arrive in perfect, ready to root, condition.
