Burgundy Rubber Plant in ceramic cachepot

You’ll be forgiven for thinking that someone hand-polished each gleaming leaf of this magnificent Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica). The broad, thick dark leaves shine even from a distance. Elevated on sturdy stems, they constitute interior architecture. Burgundy Rubber Plant is a vigorous plant and striking in its coloration. Contrary to appearances, it requires very little maintenance and, in return, adds extraordinary presence to spaces with bright indirect light. Shipped in a 9¾" wide x 9¼" tall white ceramic cachepot.

Ficus is an ancient, large, and diverse genus of evergreen trees, shrubs, and vines growing mostly throughout the tropics, with a few deciduous species, such as the delicious, common Fig (F. carica), inhabiting warm, temperate regions. The genus also includes Rubber Plants (F. elastica), Fiddle-leaf Fig (F. lyrata), Banana-leaf Fig (F. maclellandii), Variegated Ficus (F. triangularis) and numerous other species grown as houseplants. All commonly grown Ficus species contain toxic sap; site plants out of the reach of children and pets and wear gloves when pruning.
