Bzenguli Iswed Fig

Bzenguli Iswed figs have a classic mix of berry and figgy flavors that deepen as the figs age. They have a good seed crunch for those who like a little nutty crunch to their figs. The drop shaped figs grow to about medium size. Bzenguli Iswed is a variety that originally comes from Malta, and it is prized for its ability to resist splitting in humidity. This variety is also early or mid season ripening and produces a breba and a main crop. That means lots of opportunities to sample this delicious fig, even for growers in cooler climates. Bzenguli Iswed is a rare fig that makes a great addition to the backyard, especially for those who experience rain or humidity.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
