Calamintha nepeta 'Montrose White'

The Calamints are among the most reliable and broadly useful garden plants we know. Calamintha nepeta ‘Montrose White’ flowers prolifically from June into October and the foliage offers a delightful minty fragrance when crushed. ‘Montrose White’ does not produce viable seed and therefore won’t spread in your garden; it does offer nectar and pollen to bees and other pollinators and, should you decide like you’d more of it, roots easily from cuttings.

Calamintha is a genus of about 8 species in the Mint family native to Europe, northern Africa, and western Asia. These flowering herbaceous perennials are generally found in grasslands, scrubs, and woodlands across these temperate regions, explaining their heat and drought tolerance. Pollinators including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds make ample use of the small but profuse two-lipped tubular flowers that keep blooming all summer and into fall.
