Environment

Optimal conditions for growing these Cosmos flowers include full sun for at least 6 hours per day, though they can still tolerate partial shade. Space plants 12–15 inches (30–38 cm) apart and remove spent flowers regularly. Additionally, trimming stem tips can encourage bushier growth.

The soil must be well-draining, but these flowers are not picky about soil quality and can thrive even in poor conditions.

Avoid over-fertilizing as it can lead to fewer flowers and more foliage. Water moderately, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out in between waterings and avoiding overhead watering to prevent mildew.
