Cow Dung Fertilizer

Cow dung harbours a diverse group of microorganisms & have shown natural ability to increase soil fertility through phosphate solubilisation. It mainly consists of lignin, cellulose and hemicelluloses. It also contains 24 different minerals like nitrogen, potassium, along with trace amount of sulphur, iron, magnesium, copper, cobalt and manganese. The indigenous Indian cow also contain higher amount of calcium, phosphorus, zinc and copper than the cross-breed cow.

Cow manure is rich in nutrients and is suitable for plant growth. It has 3% nitrogen, 2% phosphorus, and 1% potassium—3-2-1 NPK, making it the right type of fertilizer for almost all types of plants and crops.

Dosage

1/2 cup (approx. 20-30 gms) for an average plant potted in an 12″ dia pot. It can be mixed with other fertilizer in equal proportions and used immediately.

Application

Dig a trench around 2-3 inches deep all around the plant leaving 3 inches from the plant trunk. Uniformly spread the fertilizer ( it is recommended to start with 20-30 grams of the fertilizer) in the trench and then cover the trench with soil. Water the plant till some water comes out from the bottom of pot. refer following pictures for clarity. It can be blended with other mild fertilizer to boost its nutrient content. To do this please mix them in the desired ratio and apply immediately

Cow dung manure can be used to make liquid fertilizer which can act as a fast release fertilizer for plants. and is good when you have to cater more plants with limited supply. To do this please soak 100 grams (approx. 1/2 of 1/2 pound pack) in 2 liters of water cover the vessel with muslin cloth and keep in sunny location for 3 days stir the contents vigorously after every 8 hours. Once the liquid is brewed mix this water with other 3 liters of fresh water to make a 5 liter solution and water plants with this. 

Safety

The product is safe to use around children, but ensure hands are washed after each use.  We do not recommend this product for oral consumption as it is meant to be used as fertilizer. Left over product must be properly packed to avoid ingression of moisture or water.
