Translucent Glowing Cap
The cap is turned from a single piece of selected wood, thinned across its surface to 4-6mm. At this thickness, the warm LED light inside passes through the grain itself, illuminating the wood's internal structure in glowing amber, honey, and golden tones. Cathedral grain arcs appear as dark flowing lines against a bright golden field. The cap shape is a wide, shallow cone with a gently flared rim, creating a lampshade silhouette that spreads light both downward and outward. The rim is left slightly thicker to hold its shape and to allow soft gill-like ridges that add a secondary ring of directed downward light beneath the diffused cap glow. When dimmed to its lowest setting, the cap emits a soft golden night glow visible from the crib without disturbing sleep.
Sculpted Crescent Arc Stem
The stem is carved from solid wood into a smooth, flowing crescent that sweeps from the base upward and overhead in a wide C-curve. The surface is finished to a warm satin in the same golden honey tone as the cap, with natural knots,grain swirls, and branch scars left visible and sealed. The stem curves are smooth and continuous, with no sharp bends, edges, or protruding elements. Every surface a child could reach is rounded and polished. Tree Stump Base
The base is a thick cross-cut section of natural tree stump with bark left intact around the rim. Growth rings are visible on the flat top surface. The stump is heavy and wide, providing stable counterweight for the crescent arc and the cap hanging at its far end. The low center of gravity resists tipping. A non-slip felt pad protects the nursery floor.
