Croton Petra, Codiaeum Variegatum, Live Indoor Plant

Croton 'Petra' (Codiaeum variegatum 'Petra') will enhance both houses and patios giving it a more vibrant tropical look. Its beautiful foliage consists of shiny, thick leaves loaded with a vast array of colors. The leaves variegate with many color and shades such as green, yellow, red, and orange. This shrub is native to southern Asia and the western Pacific islands. It prefers hot, humid weather it can be found outdoors in zones 9b through 11, In colder regions, croton can be grown in containers and kept indoors during cold weather. If planting outdoors use well-drained, humus-rich soil. For indoor growing, use a large container with unobstructed holes in the bottom and a commercial potting soil designed to provide good drainage.
