Del Rio Unknown Fig

Each Del Rio Unknown fig is a delicious treat of dark red pulp with a sweet and intense berry flavor. There are also hints of raspberry in the Del Rio Unknown pulp. The skin is multicolored with purple striping on a green background. The striping is artistic and has a watercolor effect. The skin can also have a blue appearance due to the pretty mix of colors. The trees will grow 5- and 7-lobed leaves with long fingers, and while this comes from fig-wasp territory, it is confirmed common. Del Rio Unknown has been around the fig community for a few years now, since about 2024. It comes to us from Albafigs, and was introduced by Robert Hanson of California.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
