Dracaena Marginata are a popular houseplant among beginners due to their easy going nature and are an excellent recommendation for individuals that are new to owning houseplants!

Light

Dracaena require bright, indirect sunlight, which can be measured by putting your Dracaena near an East facing window. If you dont have a good spot with bright, indirect light in your home dont fret! Part of the reason this plant is so popular is its ability to adapt to its environment, it will also do well in lower lit spaces, however keep in mind it may not grow as fast in this situation. Be sure to keep this plant out of bright, direct light as this can bun the leaves!

Water

Dracaena are easy-going when it comes to watering as most are drought tolerant and do not require much water to survive. A good rule of thumb to gauge whether its time to water your Dracaena is to feel the top later of soil, if its dry its time to water! When watering be sure to use distilled water or a water source that is non-fluoridated as this can cause the ends of the leaves to shrivel & turn brown.

Temperature

Dracaena thrive in environments kept at around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit and do not require a lot of humidity to survive. A nice spot away from drafts or vents will help them flourish as time goes on.

Fertilizing

Dracaena grow the most during the Spring and Summer months so incorporating a healthy plant food into your waterings will help it grow best, especially during the slower growing seasons!
