Elgas Austrian Village Fig

Elga's Austrian village is a super early and productive Celeste variant was shared at a popular European dancing spot back in the late1980’s and then again with us by our neighbor. Beautiful light purple figs with that super sweet Celeste flavor. Perfect for containers.

Many new cultivars were created in the breeding program at LSU and some were shared with and sold to fig growers and rose in popularity themselves. That is why varieties such as Improved Celeste exist. Elga's Austrian Village is likely one of these variants, so trying this cutting from Kremp Florist will allow you to compare all you love about Celeste to this new tree. You might be surprised with some unique characteristics and flavors.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
