Fancy Rimada Fig

Fancy Rimada is a fig with a bit of controversy to it, with some growers wondering if it’s simply a duplicate of another well-known Rimada variety. However, grower Helen Pham of Helen’s Garden points to Fancy Rimada’s fast growing speed that sets it apart from other Rimada varieties. The trees have compact, 5-lobed leaves and the trees are cold hardy. This variety was discovered in Texas, USA. Fancy Rimada is a common variety, not requiring wasp pollination. Fancy Rimada lives up to its name as a beautiful variety that adds visual appeal to any collection.

Fancy Rimada’s green skin is often dotted with white speckling and the figs have a teardrop shape. They tend to have an aesthetically pleasing bright color and unblemished look to them. Inside, Fancy Rimada figs have red, berry flavored pulp. The pulp is jammy and sweet.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
