Fico Pesca D' Oro Fig

Fico Pesca D'Oro is a peach tasting fig. We have yet to taste any fruit from our Fico Pesca D' Oro tree but the flavor has been described by others as tasting like a peach. Indeed, this fig was named after its signature flavor, with “pesca d’oro” being the Italian words for “golden peach.” “Fico” is Italian for “fig,” referring to both the fruit and the tree itself. The skin of Fico Pesca D’Oro is green, and the interior is yellow near the outer edges, fading to a dark pink near the eye—truly a beautiful fig. The trees are known to be fairly productive, producing medium-sized figs with good sweetness.

When do we ship cuttings?

We begin shipping cuttings once the trees are dormant and in storage. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in early December. We continue to ship throughout the winter and early spring until the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. Your cuttings will be cut to order to ensure freshness and provide the greatest chance of rooting success. Cuttings will be a minimum length of 8”, with at least 3 nodes, and will be thicker than a #2 pencil (many are sharpie thickness or greater). Our mother trees are stored in a climate-controlled environment to keep the trees dormant and healthy through the winter and early spring, and the cuttings are guaranteed to arrive in perfect, ready to root, condition.
