Plant & Care

Plant Chandler Strawberries in full sun with rich, well-drained soil. Water consistently during Cape Town’s dry summer months (December–March), keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and keep fruit clean. Remove runners if you want larger berries, or allow them to root for more plants. Feed with a balanced fertiliser during establishment, then switch to a potassium-rich feed once flowering begins. Protect ripening fruit from birds with netting.
