A tall ewer-form vase in unglazed white terracotta, likely French and mid 20th century. The slender ovoid body rises to a narrow neck with a beak spout and stands on a waisted pedestal and spreading circular foot. Its dramatic handle is modeled as entwined serpents that coil from the shoulder to the rim, finished in bright gold leaf that contrasts with the matte, chalky body. Unmarked. Condition is very good, with light surface smudging to the body, faint wear at the foot, and a few small rubs to the gilding; discreet repairs to the handles are hardly noticeable.
