Fritillaria persica 'Purple Dynamite' is a special cultivar with shiny, almost metallic, grape-purple, bell-shaped flowers on tall spikes that deepen to purple-black with age. A florist's favourite, its dramatic blooms also make treasured cut flowers. Growing 30–60 cm (12–24″) tall, it thrives in full sun to part sun in dry to average, well-drained soil — plant the bulb on its side with sand or grit worked into the hole to prevent rotting, and mulch over winter in cooler zones. Deer and rodent resistant thanks to naturally toxic alkaloids, and attractive to bees and butterflies, it's a striking, easy-care choice for naturalizing and dramatic spring colour. 1 bulb per pack.
