These plants form part of the remarkable Cape fynbos biome and are known for their unusual flowers, striking shapes and ability to attract birds and pollinators to the garden. Many fynbos species are naturally waterwise once established, making them a wonderful choice for South African gardens.

The kit comes packaged in a handy egg box and includes everything you need to get started. Each kit contains seeds from six species as well as Cape Seed Smoke Primer, which helps trigger germination by mimicking the natural post fire conditions of the fynbos ecosystem.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
Please note the detailed instructions included in the packaging; below is just a guide.

1. Fill the eggbox cups with the supplied soil mix or a well-draining sandy potting mix.
2. Plant both seeds of each species in the cups at a depth roughly equal to the seed size.
3. Water gently and keep the soil moist, but never waterlogged.
4. Place seedlings in semi-shade with good airflow and protect from birds and pests.
5. Germination may take 1 to 3 months depending on the species.
6. Once seedlings reach about 4–5 cm tall, plant them into the garden or a larger pot with well-draining soil.
