How to Plant the All-Purpose Garden Cover Crop Mix

Preparation:

• Loosen the soil: Use a rake or spring-harrow to break up compacted soil and create a suitable planting bed.

Planting:

• Broadcast seeds: Scatter the seeds evenly over the prepared area.
• Incorporate seeds: Lightly rake or harrow the area to cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.
• Water: Immediately water the newly planted area to help the seeds settle into the soil. Alternatively, plant just before a predicted rain shower.

Post-planting care:

• Monitor moisture: If the weather is hot and dry, water regularly to ensure seed germination. As the weather cools, watering may become less necessary.

Growth and maintenance:

• Fall growth: Most fall cover crops germinate and grow in the fall but do not reach full maturity before winter.
