A mushroom the size of a child stands in the corner of your living room. Monumental Carved Trunk
The trunk is not assembled from pieces. It is carved from one continuous block of solid wood, selected for its diameter, grain, and structural integrity. The surface is shaped with hand tools to create long, vertical fiber lines that run from the base to the cap, mimicking the natural texture of a giant mushroom's stipe. The chisel marks are deliberate and visible, giving the trunk a hand-hewn character that machine-sanded surfaces cannot replicate. Natural knots and grain shifts appear on the surface where the original tree's growth pattern created them.
Wide Dome Cap with Gill Glow
The cap is a broad, heavy dome that overhangs the trunk on all sides. The top surface is sanded smooth and shows the wood's natural grain in warm honey-to-amber tones, with visible knots and color shifts. Underneath, hundreds of tight gill lines are carved by hand, radiating from the center outward to the rim. The built-in LED strip sits at the junction of cap and trunk, shining outward through the carved channels. The warm 2700K light fans through the gills in a wide sunburst, casting golden rays across the room. The cap is large enough to function as a primary room light, not just an accent. Hand-Hewn Surface Texture
The entire trunk surface is finished with controlled chisel work rather than smooth sanding. The vertical lines catch light and shadow differently depending on the time of day and the viewing angle.
