FEEDING YOUR ORCHIDS

For best results, remember the rule "weekly, weakly." Active growth periods (spring and summer) require regular feeding, while dormant periods may not. Avoid overfeeding to prevent root and leaf burn and hinder flowering. Dilution rates should not exceed 10 ml per liter for actively growing Cymbidiums, while most other orchids thrive at 5 ml per liter.

Consistent, smaller doses result in healthier plants compared to infrequent strong solutions. Monthly flushing with pure water removes mineral buildup.

FOLIAR FEEDING

Though less efficient than root feeding, foliar feeding benefits orchids. Administer at half strength (2.5 - 5ml per liter) using a fine mist spray bottle. Mist foliage, including the underside of leaves, but avoid blooms. Spray in the morning to avoid sun heat damage.
