Variegated foliage unfurls to create an upright wavy mound for a pleasing effect of constant movement. Twisted creamy white leaves exhibit pronounced green veining encompassed by dark green margins. Leaf centers transform from white to light green as summer progresses. Trumpet-shaped lavender flowers in summer.
Hosta display lush foliage in diverse colors, heights, and textures. Their ability to excel in deep shade have captured gardener's hearts everywhere. Hosta are generally carefree. Remove the spent flower stalks if seeding is not wanted. (Not all varieties will seed.) Be aware that seedlings are rarely true to the parent plant. Unwanted or damaged leaves can be clipped off at the base at any time. The entire plant will die back for the winter and spent foliage can usually be raked or clipped off easily in late fall or early spring. Can be divided in spring or fall every 3-5 years if desired.
