Ilema's curly leaves qualify it as a "lollo bionda" type lettuce. It's impressively voluminous with substantial weight and fast growth. Ilema Organic lettuce seeds produce heads with a refined flavour. The leaves will add loft and volume to salad mixes, but they are quite nice on their own as well. It can be harvested from the baby leaf stage to full sized mature heads.
Cut the head from the ground and make a single cut around the short stem, and the leaves fall perfectly away for an instant salad. This will speed up market production for salad mixes.
Note: This seed is pelleted to improve handling and planting accuracy.
