Inca Lily | Alstroemeria Colorita 'Katiana'

A beauty. A compact and free flowering Alstroemeria, bearing a profusion of striking red flowers, contrasting beautifully with its variegated leaves. Ideal for small gardens, beddings and patio containers. Also wonderful as cut-flowers, thanks to a very long vase life. Do not cut the flowers but rather pull out the entire flower stem from the ground as this encourages the plant to form new shoots at the base.

For the best results, plant in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny to lightly shaded position and keep well watered during the growing and flowering season. To encourage continuous flowering and new shoots, do not cut the flower stems. Instead, pull the entire flower stem firmly from the base of the plant. This encourages fresh growth from the base and helps maintain a healthy, floriferous plant.

Plant & Care

Plant Inca Lily ‘Colorita Katiana’ in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Water regularly while establishing, keeping the soil evenly moist but avoiding waterlogged conditions. Once established, maintain consistent watering during active growth and flowering, particularly during hot, dry periods.

Feed with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season to encourage healthy foliage and abundant flowering. Remove spent flowers and damaged foliage regularly to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage further blooms. To promote fresh shoots and continued flowering, pull flower stems firmly from the base rather than cutting them. Protect the plant from extreme heat where necessary and provide good drainage to support healthy root growth.
