Joualle Noire Fig

Joualle Noire figs have long necks and black skin. The skin usually has a starry pattern of white dots. Their pulp is dense and jammy with a complex flavor that has given them their reputation as the best new black fig. Some have described it as an exotic berry flavor. Joualle Noire trees are known to be extremely fast growing, and the figs themselves also grow to a large size. It is a common variety, not requiring wasp pollination. The trees will have leaves with 7 and 5 lobes and produce one crop annually.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
