Hold a moonstone up to the light and it does something no other gem quite does: a soft, billowy glow seems to float just beneath the surface, like moonlight moving through thin clouds. Gemologists call the effect adularescence; ancient cultures had a simpler explanation — Hindu tradition described moonstone as solidified moonbeams, formed from actual moonlight.

Intuition. Long believed to sharpen inner knowing, which is why folklore held it could reveal glimpses of the future to whoever carried one under a full moon.
New Beginnings. Tied to lunar cycles and the moon's endless pattern of renewal, it became a natural stone for fresh starts.
Feminine Energy. The moon itself has been personified as a goddess across cultures — Selene in Greek myth, Diana and Artemis in Greco-Roman tradition — and moonstone inherited that association, long connected to womanhood, fertility, and cyclical rhythms long before "feminine energy" was even the phrase people used for it.

Moonstone has never gone out of style, exactly — it just keeps getting rediscovered. René Lalique and Louis Comfort Tiffany both built it into their Art Nouveau designs, Arts and Crafts jewelers loved it in hand-worked silver, and it resurfaced again with 1960s counterculture and 1990s New Age jewelry. This bracelet is the newest chapter in a genuinely old story.

• Moonstone is moderately soft (about 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale) and, as a feldspar, has natural internal cleavage planes — meaning a hard knock can chip it more easily than a knock would affect ruby or sapphire

• Clean with a soft, damp cloth only; skip ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals
