Kaladium™ Fairytale Princess™ PP (Caladium Fairytale Princess™ ‘UF 4412’)

A breakthrough in the world of caladiums. Fairytale Princess™ has no dormancy requirement so it can be grown year-round. This is fantastic news for gardeners who tire of digging up the tubers at the end of each growing season to store them during the winter months. The striking red foliage has pronounced venation with green borders. The depth of the red coloration and size of the green borders depends on light levels. The first photo shows the plant grown in high light; the second photo shows the plant grown in low light. It makes an eye-catching specimen whether grown in a container in the summer garden or as an indoor houseplant. Unlike many traditional caladiums, Fairytale Princess performs well in full sun or partial shade. For zone 10 gardeners who leave it outside year-round, the plant goes somewhat dormant in the winter, but when it warms up, it returns to its full beauty.
