La Bourgeoise Fig

The name La Bourgeoise translates to “middle class” in English, but this fig is far from ordinary. La Bourgeoise is a rare fig from the Provence region of France. It originally came into famed fig grower Monsieur Baud’s collection when a local resident gifted it to his father. Not much is known about this fig, but its rapid growth has been very impressive; it bears 5-lobed, jumbo leaves and large figs that can weigh up to 50 grams. Growers of La Bourgeoise can expect two crops. It has a closed eye and does not split even when faced with heavy rains.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
