Large French Concrete Swan Garden Planter, c. 1960s - 16½" x 23¾"

A large swan-form French garden planter, dating from the 1960s. Cast in heavy concrete, it has a broad hollow body, raised wings, and a long curved neck that gives the piece a graceful silhouette. The feathers are simply incised, while yellow paint remains on the beak and feet. Years of outdoor use have created an attractive weathered patina, with soft gray tones, surface wear, and small areas of discoloration. The base is pierced for drainage. 

Its scale and aged surface give it real presence in a garden, courtyard, or covered terrace. Filled with trailing plants or left empty, the curved neck, worn paint, and natural patina give this example a charming, slightly nostalgic character.
