Lepismium cruciforme or Hurricane Cactus is an epiphytic cactus with long, fleshy segmented stems and short white tufts of hair, but no spines. The stems vary from flat, to angled, to corkscrew. Flowers bloom along the sides of the stems and often line the entire length of the stem on both sides. Several Lepismium species feature colored flowers and other have white flowers, either of these turning into bright colored fruits later on. Stems will turn a deep shade of pink in bright sun. Clusters of tiny yellow or white flowers will bloom intermittently.
