Madeleine des deux Saisons Fig

Madeleine de deux Saisons is a fig that originally comes from the Anjou region of France. It was documented by famed French fig grower, Pierre Baud. With a name that means “Madeleine of two seasons,” expect this variety to produce two crops of delicious figs. Madeleine de Deux Saisons trees are slow growing and have reduced productivity, so have patience with this variety. It is particularly suited to climates matching its native home along the Brittany Coast of France, and has been a proven success in the rainy weather of the Pacific Northwestern US.

MdDS figs grow to medium size and have a rich, sugary flavor. The figs have good resistance to splitting and the plants are cold hardy. The slow growing trees will produce 3- and 5-lobed leaves.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
