Michelangelo's David Statue (Large)

Michelangelo’s David Sculpture is a refined reduction inspired by the Renaissance masterpiece carved in marble between 1501 and 1504. Originally conceived as a monumental figure standing 5.17 metres (17 ft) tall, David became one of the most celebrated symbols of Florentine art and civic pride.

Depicted in the moment before battle, the biblical hero is shown with calm intensity and perfect anatomical balance, embodying strength, vigilance, and human idealism. Unusually for Florence at the time, David was elevated from a religious subject into a powerful political emblem, representing independence and moral courage.
