A sport of 'Geranium,' Narcissus 'Sir Winston Churchill' is one of the best Double Daffodils for the Deep South. Full blooms of creamy white frame a center of saffron yellow. Stems generally bear two to three flowers, each about 1½" wide, so you get a lot for your money. We were led to this variety by our nose—from 30' away—trying to locate the Daffodil with the astonishing perfume. Late midseason.
Double Daffodils have a central cluster of petals and are almost roselike in form. Doubles are good for showing, bedding, and picking.
Narcissus blooms are for many gardeners the first visible signs of spring. These vigorous, long-lived bulbs thrive joyously in sunny, well-drained places, are shunned by hungry deer and voles, and will thrive and multiply with little care on your part, creating a glorious landscape and a horticultural legacy.
