Pair of Cast-Iron Garden Urns w/ Beautiful Patina - 14½" x 21¼"

A pair of French cast-iron garden urns,liokely form the 20th centiry, with elegant balanced proportions and richly weathered surfaces. Each has a broad, shallow bowl with a large rim decorated with a repeating foliate border, The broad rim is decorated with a repeating foliate frieze above a gadrooned body, raised on a slender pedestal and square plinth. The pair stands out for its beautiful rust and earthy terracotta-colored patina, with darker areas of oxidation settling into the relief and emphasizing the cast decoration. Both urns are pierced for drainage. 

The pair would look striking flanking an entrance or anchoring the corners of a terrace, either planted with loose greenery or left empty to let their beautiful mottled patina take center stage. Indoors, placed individually on pedestals, they read almost as sculptural objects, their warm mineral surface and classical relief adding depth to a pared-back interior.
