The result is a vigorous planting that helps keep soil covered, maintain living roots, build biomass, and add greater plant diversity to pastures, fields, orchards, and other agricultural areas.

The cereal grains provide structure and dependable vegetative growth throughout the stand. Beardless barley establishes readily and contributes fibrous roots and useful biomass, while Forerunner triticale adds vigorous cool-season growth and helps create a dense canopy. Together, these grasses help protect exposed soil, compete with weeds, and contribute organic material when the planting is mowed, grazed, or incorporated.

Frostmaster peas and faba beans add legume diversity and can form beneficial relationships with nitrogen-fixing bacteria when properly inoculated. Suggested Planting Guidance

• Planting Season: Late summer through early fall for cool-season grazing and cover; early spring is an alternative where fall establishment or overwintering is unreliable.
