Phalaenopsis celebensis, also known as The Celebes Phalaenopsis, is a species native to Sulawesi (formerly Celebes) in Indonesia. This miniature epiphyte features dark green leaves mottled with silver grey, typically 3-5 leaves measuring 15-18 cm long. Blooming in July and August, its flowers are star-shaped, snow-white with bright orange or lilac spots on the lip, opening successively on a purplish-green inflorescence.
Cultivating Phalaenopsis celebensis requires consistent temperatures and humidity, with moderate difficulty. The orchid prefers year-round full shade to avoid leaf reddening. It thrives in constant moisture, with watering recommended using lukewarm water at about 21°C.
