Origin
The Philodendron 'Prince of Orange' is a tropical plant, originating from the rainforests of South America. The 'Prince of Orange' is part of the Araceae family, a large and diverse genus of plants that also includes the popular Monstera and Anthurium. This species is named after the bright orange colour of the newly unfurling leaf, reminiscent of the Dutch royal family, the House of Orange.

Characteristics
The 'Prince of Orange' sets itself apart from other Philodendrons with its dynamic colour gradient. New leaves unfurl in a bright orange hue and gradually change to dark green as they age. The plant can grow to approximately 60 centimeters in height. The broad leaves are characteristic of the Araceae family and give the plant a robust and lush appearance. In addition, this Philodendron does not exhibit a creeping or hanging growth habit, but grows upright, making it an ideal pot plant.

Care
The 'Prince of Orange' prefers a light to semi-shady location, but extreme direct sun should be avoided to prevent leaf burn. The plant thrives at a constant temperature between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. Generally, it does not require abundant water; it is sufficient to keep the soil slightly moist. During the growth period, from spring to autumn, the plant can benefit from regular fertilization. Although the plant is fairly resistant, overwatering and too cold weather will result in discoloured and drooping leaves.
