This 5 lb repack of Phyta-Grow Leafy Green Special 7-1-2 is sized for containers, raised beds, and smaller plantings of lettuce, kale, spinach, chard, herbs, and other crops grown primarily for foliage.

Product profile

The plant-based pellets are made from soybean meal without animal by-products. The 7-1-2 analysis emphasizes nitrogen for vegetative growth while supplying smaller amounts of phosphorus and potassium. Nutrients release gradually as the material breaks down in soil.

• Pre-planting guidance: 10–20 lb per 1,000 sq ft
• Apply as a measured side-dressing when additional nitrogen is appropriate
• Use soil-test results and crop needs to refine the rate

Avoid assuming that every leafy crop needs the same amount. Excess nitrogen can produce overly soft growth or reduce crop quality, so account for compost, prior fertilizer, and existing soil fertility. Store the closed bag in a dry location and keep pellets away from moisture until use.
