When two-spotted spider mites explode and webbing is spreading, you need speed, not patience. Phytoseiulus persimilis is the most aggressive spider mite predator available, racing through colonies and clearing heavy infestations faster than any other beneficial mite. It is a specialist: it lives to eat spider mites and will not survive once the prey is gone, so it is the tool for an active outbreak rather than long-term prevention.
Live insects ship on Tuesdays only and arrive Wednesday. Orders must be placed 7 days in advance. Anything ordered by 3pm EST Tuesday ships the following Tuesday by UPS overnight shipping.
Persimilis is the go-to when you have confirmed a heavy two-spotted spider mite outbreak, clearing dense colonies faster than any other predatory mite.
It consumes spider mite eggs, larvae, and adults at a high rate, which is what lets it turn around a bloom that is already out of control.
Because it feeds only on spider mites, it dies out once the prey is gone. Use it to break an outbreak, then follow with a durable predator for prevention.
The predator moves through the fine webbing where two-spotted mites shelter, reaching the colony that sprays struggle to penetrate.
A common program is persimilis for the fast knockdown followed by Neoseiulus californicus to keep a standing patrol afterward.
Dust the carrier straight onto the infested foliage. No mixing and no sprayer, just shake it where the webbing is worst.
Turn and gently shake the bottle, then sprinkle onto leaves and webbing at the hotspots.
Apply directly where mites and webbing are worst; typical rate 2-50 per m².
Repeat weekly once or twice until the outbreak breaks.
Follow with californicus for lasting prevention once the mites are cleared.
Persimilis is a specialist, so it is worth confirming you have two-spotted spider mites and webbing before you release.
Shake the carrier directly onto the most heavily infested leaves and webbing so the predators land right on their prey.
Persimilis feeds aggressively on mite eggs, larvae, and adults, collapsing the population quickly.
Once the outbreak is cleared the predators die off, so plan a durable predator like californicus to prevent a rebound.
