Grow your own Pincushion Protea with this easy seed kit. Leucospermum, commonly known as pincushions, are some of the most popular and rewarding fynbos plants to grow in the garden.
This variety is considered one of the easiest pincushions to grow, forming a rounded, spreading shrub that reaches around 1.5 metres in height and up to 2 metres across. It is a vigorous and reliable grower that adds colour and structure to fynbos gardens.
The flowers appear in summer and range in colour from shades of red and orange to bright yellow, creating a vibrant display. Their distinctive pincushion shape also makes them highly desirable long lasting cut flowers.
The pack contains five Leucospermum seeds, along with Cape Seed Smoke Primer to help trigger germination by mimicking the natural post fire conditions of the fynbos ecosystem. It is packaged in a self sealing cellophane sleeve, making it easy to send as a thoughtful gardening gift.
