Plunter - Seedling Soil Block Maker

A simple and very effective soil block maker which is ideal for planting seeds in for optimum germination.

Once the seedling is established in the soil block, the block with its seedling is planted at the final growing position.

Benefits

* Roots usually grow round in seedlings trays, in the Plunter the roots reach to the edge of the soil block and are air pruned until the block is planted into soil the roots then continue to grow out as normal

* The seedling suffers no transplanting shock when planted into the soil, which could delay development of the plant by a week.

* No piles of old seedling trays.

* Start seeds germinating earlier in the season

 By planting the germinated seed in the nutrient-rich block there is no transplantation shock.

How to use:

Turn the Plunter upside down, fill to the brim with tightly-packed wet seedling mix.

Turn the right way around and squeeze excess water out of the Plunter by pushing firmly down on the handle.

Slide the soil block the from Plunter by gently pushing down on the handle while holding the Plunter sleeve in the other hand.

Place the seed into the central indentation and lightly cover the seed with sifted seedling mix to the same thickness as the seed. The smaller the seed, the shallower it should be sown.

Water the soil block gently and keep moist until the seedling is strong enough to be transplanted.

The Plunter is made from UV stable PVC, the wooden part is treated with marine varnish, metal parts are rust resistant.
